We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst for a role requiring a detail-oriented professional with a focus on building business intelligence tools, programming and communication skills to perform data acquisition, normalization operations to ensure data accuracy, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, high-quality submissions.

This role supports regulatory reporting through advanced data analysis, interpretation of regulatory requirements, and validation of complex datasets across multiple states and lines of business. The position applies analytical and problem solving skills as well as business intelligence, data visualizations, and analytic tools to regulatory data, identifies data issues, creates solutions, and supports accurate, compliant submissions.

Office position with future potential to be telecommuter

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop programming solutions using various tools to meet regulatory and data requirements including analysis and validation of claims and non-claims datasets
  • Apply state data specifications, technical manuals, and regulatory guidance across Commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare to develop programming for data acquisition
  • Assess data accuracy, completeness, and compliance; identify root causes of discrepancies and recommend solutions using business intelligence, data visualizations, and analytic tools
  • Collaborate with technical (e.g. programmers, data warehouse) and non technical (e.g. Legal and Compliance) teams to resolve complex reporting issues
  • Support testing and validation for new or updated reporting requirements
  • Maintain and improve reporting workflows and documentation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and strengthen data controls
  • Apply business intelligence, data visualizations, and analytic tools to regulatory data to distinguish patterns and recognize trends in statistical and financial data related to regulatory reporting
  • Develop and maintain data preparation and validation routines to support data acquisition
  • Evaluate new analytics tools and methodologies
  • Solve moderately complex problems and/or conduct moderately complex analyses
  • Work with minimal guidance; seek guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Coach, provide feedback, and guide acting as a resource for others with less experience

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience performing data acquisition, analysis, validation, or translating business or regulatory requirements
  • Experience working in a self-directed environment, solving moderately complex problems and conducting moderately complex analyses
  • Experience collaborating with data analysts to interpret specifications and requirements to develop programming for data extraction from data warehouses
  • Experience conducting data extraction from data warehouses to support reporting requirements using SQL based tools
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire and maintain working knowledge of architecture of data warehouses as well as follow changes and developments related to the data warehouses
  • Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills in matrixed environments
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without any restrictions. Proof will be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in insurance and/or healthcare industry
  • Experience with Snowflake or Databricks
  • Experience supporting federal or state regulatory reporting
  • Solid documentation and workflow modeling skills
  • Experience in performing quality control and validation
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a resource or mentor

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
