Roadhouse Sanctuary Ambassador (seasonal part-time)

Schedule:

Thursday-Monday 8am-1pm

Saturday Night Concerts 5pm-9pm

Hiring Range: This position's hiring range is anticipated to be $15.60 to $18.00 per hour based on experience.

Position Summary: The Roadhouse MercantilePT Seasonal Ambassadoris responsible forproviding exceptional guest service in the Mercantile and on Roadhouse grounds,must be diligent in providing Best Friends visitors with an enthusiastic welcome and educational experience. The Roadhouse Mercantile Ambassadoris responsible forproviding our visitors with quality experience through informative and engaging tours of the Sanctuary. They mustpossessa strong ability to multi-task, beflexibleand remain focused in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Will Primarily be running Sanctuary tours from in town Kanab areas, such as the Kanab Tourism Center, The Roadhouse and Mercantile and other local hotels and RV parks asrequested.

Responsible for helping always maintaining the Mercantile in guest-presentable conditions.The Mercantile Ambassadorfacilitatesretail purchases,assistswith meal and event set-ups and service when needed, provides directions,assistswith pets, helping guests with problem solving while working as a member of the Roadhouse team to serve our guests well.

The Mercantile Ambassador works closely with the Roadhouse Front Desk and Welcome Center team as well as other associates to providea high levelof personal service to our lodging guests and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a friendly welcome to visitors and guests including people and pets.
• Facilitates retail purchases of food,beverageand/or merchandise.
• Properly and graciouslyhandlesall guest and visitor requests.
• Provides directions andassistswith activities.
• Restockssupplies as needed.
• Ensures a clean and well-organized environment.
• Engages visitors and guests in the work of Best Friends.
• Driving tour van at the sanctuary.
• Create and provide informative and up-to-date tours on a variety of topics including BestFriendsHistory and Mission.
• Become conversant on all Best Friends projects, rollouts, policies, programs, and animal carein order toanswer questions and engage visitors.
• Engage with guests and help them navigate theirvisit,i.e.volunteering, adopting, touring, lodging.
• Invite our guests to become members and support our mission.
• Inspire our guests to be involved in the no kill movement in their communities through volunteering, advocacy and sharing their experience.
• Assistguests by researching membership status on Hero,locatingpet placements,assistingguests in securing volunteer shifts, sleepovers, and encouraging Action Teamsign-ups.
• Help run events such as kitten bingo, and Roadhouse music nights including setup ofspace, clean up afterward and ringing up sales in Mercantile during the events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

• Oneyearwork experience, preferably in a customer service role.
• Outgoing positive personality and communication skills.
• The ideal person for this job will be a team player, personable,professionaland able to work cooperatively with a wide variety of associates,guestsand visitors.
• Attention to detail with the ability to be flexible and adaptablein order toprovide outstanding guest experience.
• Able to handle a variety of tasks and requests with changing priorities. Must be comfortable with technology and proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with PointOfSalesystems(POS) a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible, Full time schedule including days, evenings,weekendsand holidays duringthe months of Marchthrough November.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to routinely lift 40 pounds or more to stock supplies and serve guests.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions to support guest needs and events, including baggage handling.
• Must be able to perform strenuous physical activityon a daily basisincluding standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and kneelingin order tosupport guest interactions.
