Inside the Role

The Business Strategy Manager is responsible for developing and guiding a strategy for success for Daimler Truck Financial Services North America (DTFS). The role manages strategic initiatives, requests, and project portfolio steering; maximizing the value of enterprise activities and investments by aligning projects and initiatives to business strategy and organizational objectives. Lead discovery work and develop DTFS performance culture strategy. The Business Strategy Manager tracks industry benchmarking, global market landscape changes (including but not limited to economic and government developments), and conducts strategic analyses, including those involving external consultants to develop proposals that result in recommendations to the Executive Committee and Senior Leadership.

What You Drive at DTFS

  • Lead development of strategic planning process and resulting strategic plan.
  • Facilitate and support development of department and functional strategies.
  • Oversee DTFS strategic steering process. Maximize the value of enterprise activities and investments by aligning and prioritizing enterprise projects and initiatives with business strategy and organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate transparency and Executive Committee visibility into benefits and results tracking after implementation.
  • Participate with DTFS leadership in defining DTFS NA's performance culture and aligning with DTFS HR and DTFS Global, and well as the DTNA team.
  • Strengthen our atmosphere of employee engagement.
  • Research and analyze the macro business environment, key intelligence topics, market trends, and competitive developments to support and enhance strategic decision making.
  • Lead strategic analyses, including those involving external consultants to develop proposals and make recommendations to Executive Committee and Senior Leadership.
  • Understand global strategic objectives and aspirations. Represent DTFSNA in global strategy development and influence global strategies to incorporate DTFSNA perspectives.
  • Collaborate with the DTNA Strategy Team to develop DTNA and DTFS joint market strategies.
  • Focus on improving the Business and Strategy Team's performance by developing competencies, skills and behaviors. Provide feedback and guidance in a timely manner. Coach and guide team to success.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Industrial Organization, or Sociology.
  • Minimum of 8 years of financial services experience.
  • Experience leading teams in global matrixed environment.
  • Proven success developing and steering an overall corporate strategy initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork and negotiation, collaboration and communication skills.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to collect data and establish facts and identify trends and variances; ability to integrate information from a variety of sources with varied levels of complexity; ability to review, interpret, and evaluate statistical information; and ability to formulate and test hypotheses for the purpose of forecasting outcomes.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Master's Degree Preferred in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Industrial Organization, or Sociology.
  • Strategic planning experience in an international marketspace.
  • Consulting experience (internal or external).
