Job Summary

Church & Dwight is seeking a Creative Excellence Leader to join our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and serving as a senior leader within the Marketing Excellence Group, the Creative Excellence Leader is responsible for defining and stewarding the creative and design vision across the Church & Dwight portfolio, with particular emphasis on the 14 Power Brands. This role operates at the intersection of brand strategy, creative expression, and enterprise growth, ensuring that each brand's positioning and growth ambition are translated into distinctive, consistent, and culturally relevant creative experiences.

About the Role

As a strategic partner to the CMO and Strategic Business Unit Vice Presidents, the Creative Excellence Leader plays a critical role in helping to shape brand strategy and long-range brand vision while leading the go-to-market expression across categories. The role leads internal and external creative resources to elevate creative quality, strengthen brand equity, and drive demand through cohesive storytelling across packaging, communications, and omnichannel consumer touchpoints. This leader balances big-picture brand stewardship with hands-on creative leadership, setting enterprise standards while enabling brand teams to move with speed, clarity, and creative confidence.

Work Environment

Hybrid: This is a hybrid role based in Ewing, NJ and requires in- person attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Creative Strategy & Vision

  • Lead the development of brand creative vision and visual identity systems, ensuring messaging foundations and positioning are powerfully and consistently expressed.
  • Oversee the translation of brand strategy and consumer insights into compelling creative platforms, campaigns, and asset ecosystems.
  • Guide the end-to-end creative strategy process, from briefing through concept development and execution, ensuring work is insight-led, on brand, and culturally relevant.
  • Ensure all creative work reinforces a cohesive and differentiated brand experience across channels and consumer touchpoints.

Creative & Design Excellence

  • Set and uphold best-in-class standards for creative quality, craft, and brand consistency across the portfolio.
  • Lead the creative excellence and design teams to deliver innovative, distinctive, and effective brand assets that drive both equity and performance.
  • Establish and govern enterprise brand guidelines, visual identity systems, and design standards across packaging, communications, and digital ecosystems.
  • Ensure packaging design excellence by partnering with R&D, packaging, operations, and suppliers to deliver solutions that are both creatively compelling and operationally feasible.

Agency & Creative Operations Leadership

  • Own senior relationships with external creative and design agencies, ensuring strategic alignment, high-quality output, and cost-effective partnership models.
  • Build scalable creative operating models, tools, and workflows that enable speed, agility, and consistency across internal and external resources, incorporating new AI enabled technology where applicable.
  • Lead and evolve a high-performing internal creative organization capable of agile content production and enterprise-level brand stewardship.
  • Optimize agency rosters, scopes, and ways of working to support both brand-specific and enterprise needs.

Cross-Functional & Matrix Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with CMO, Brand Marketing, Consumer Insights, Innovation, Digital Marketing, Ecommerce, and Consumer Care to deliver integrated brand experiences.
  • Drive alignment across creative, social, ecommerce, and owned channels to ensure a seamless consumer journey from first impression to ongoing engagement.
  • Foster strong matrix leadership, enabling brand teams to leverage creative excellence while maintaining clarity on roles, decision rights, and standards.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across creative and brand teams.

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS required; MBA strongly preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive creative, design, and brand leadership experience, ideally within CPG or brand-driven organizations.
  • Proven track record of shaping brand strategy and leading creative expression at enterprise or portfolio scale.
  • Demonstrated success building iconic brands through packaging, integrated campaigns, and omnichannel experiences.
  • Extensive experience leading large internal teams and managing multiple external agencies.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to translate brand strategy into distinctive, scalable creative systems.
  • Experience operating effectively in complex, matrixed organizations with multiple brands and stakeholders.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000- $353,100. This position is also eligible for a bonus.

U.S. employees are entitled to paid holidays, floating holidays, and vacation days starting in their first year of employment depending on hire date. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
