Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Armed Patrol Driver in Brownsville, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail location, you will drive between assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to situations with calm communication, support store teams and guests with customer service, and document observations with integrity. This is a driving and armed post requiring a valid driver's license and an armed guard card or license.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, employees, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the sales floor, stock areas, exterior perimeter, and parking areas to help to deter theft, property damage, and/or unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical incidents, alarms, and/or suspicious activity, and coordinate with local law enforcement when needed.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, assist with access control as assigned, and report maintenance hazards, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations to site leadership.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, preserve evidence when applicable, and support loss prevention activities such as observing concealment, supporting apprehension protocols, and/or providing presence during cash handling and closing procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license from the state in which the job is located is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Level III armed certification is required for Texas only.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
