Job Description

Essential Functions:

* Manages, coordinates, and monitors aspects of construction of capital maintenance projects. This includes pipeline, compressor/pump stations, dehydration facilities, and measurement facilities.

* Plans and coordinates construction activity, material delivery, and work involving construction crews and inspectors.

* Identify, train, and manage qualified inspectors for construction projects.

* Enforces strict adherence to all ETP Engineering Standards and SOPs.

* Conducts kick-off and post-construction meetings with contractors for evaluation of performance and tracking of success.

* Communicates and coordinates effectively with contractors and clients to develop, promote, and maintain positive relationships.

* Works closely with the Project Engineering team to effectively manage changes to scope and/or design of projects during construction. Provides timely feedback to contractors during change process to ensure efficient production.

* Works closely with the Project Engineering team in development of project scope, bid exhibits prior to bid meetings, and coordinate construction activities.

* Manages multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on safety, cost control, project milestones, and in-service dates.

* Maintains relationships with Operations personnel in order to evaluate installed facilities and incorporate improvements into future facilities.

* Ensure project objectives are met during the construction phase including safety, environmental, security, quality, schedule, cost controls and community relations.

Required Skills

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external personnel.

* Detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

* Strong computer skills, with emphasis on MS Office, and a high level of comfort with changing technologies.

* Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking skills.

* Work in a fast paced environment and display a sense of urgency and strong customer service.

* Identify work priorities and lead team by example.

* Displays good judgment, maintains confidentiality, as needed, and makes sound decisions.

* Must have strong analytical skills and be able to apply sound judgement to abnormal situations.

Requirements

* High school diploma required.

* 8+ years industry experience. Natural gas construction experience is preferred.

* Must have a valid driver's license.

* Travel approximately 50% of the time, including overnight and extended travel.

* Must possess construction knowledge of natural gas properties and pipeline operations.

* Must maintain a high regard for personal safety as well as that of other employees and contractors on site, in addition to the protection of company assets and the general public.

* Must be able to evaluate project bids and help project managers make selections.

* Must be able to review plans and details for safety, code compliance, proper company standards, and constructability.

* Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours and to respond to emergency situations at any time of day.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Must be able to travel 20% of the time with an occasional overnight stay.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Must reside within 45 minutes of the reporting work location.
