The Children & Youth Supportive Case Manager plays a vital role in advocating for and supporting children and youth enrolled in YMCA programs and connected community services throughout Haverhill and the surrounding areas. This position focuses on ensuring young people have safe, stable, and developmentally appropriate environments where they can grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.

In this role, you will build strong relationships with children, youth, families, YMCA staff, and external partners to coordinate care, monitor progress, and remove barriers to success.


What You'll Do


  • Conduct child- and youth-focused assessments and track progress toward individualized goals



  • Develop and maintain organized, accurate case documentation and reports



  • Conduct weekly site visits to observe youth, provide direct support, and collaborate with program staff



  • Facilitate communication between families, YMCA teams, schools, and community service providers



  • Support smooth transitions between programs and services



  • Ensure compliance with Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations and program standards



  • Advocate for the well-being, safety, and long-term success of each child and youth served




What You Bring

To thrive in this role, you must have direct experience working with children and youth, particularly those facing social, economic, educational, or family-related barriers.

Strong candidates will have experience in:




  • Human services, social work, youth development, education, or related fields



  • Case management or supportive service coordination for children and families



  • Navigating local and state community resources



  • Working within or alongside EEC-regulated programs




You are someone who:




  • Builds trusting relationships with children, youth, and families



  • Communicates clearly, compassionately, and professionally



  • Is highly organized and detail-oriented



  • Uses sound judgment and maintains a calm, supportive presence



  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Qualifications

  • Must provide and maintain documents and certifications within the educator file as required by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care
  • Must complete all trainings/certifications and program orientation in accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and the YMCA of the North Shore
  • Reliable transportation to ensure travel between multiple sites
  • Spanish speaking preferred, but not required
