Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Researcher IV for
DLS Molecular Biology & Biochem. This position works under supervision of lab head and PhD scientists, and as part of a collaborative multi-institution team.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Performs a variety of tasks devoted to understanding the biology of healthy aging and screening for health-promoting interventions using the C. elegans genetics model.
- Oversees laboratory strain collection inputs and outputs with guidance from the Principle Investigator.
- Performs professional entry-level experiments using standard basic techniques.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, including biochemistry, biology, genetics, or molecular genetics or a related scientific field or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant research experience in a laboratory setting emphasizing precision in media preparation.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Ability to work interactively in a dedicated team, strong critical thinking, and ability to perform tasks after consulting guidance provided by the Principle Investigator and the research team.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Entry level experience with C. elegans manipulations, especially survival and mobility analyses.
- Knowledge of C. elegans strain collection management and longevity assays, as well as expertise in standard lab protocols such as sterile technique and media preparation.

- Two (2) years or more of experience in a lab setting.
- Experience in the culture and maintenance of C. elegans and basic microscopy.
- Related lab experience.
- Experience in cross-institution data exchange.
