| Position Summary |
This position will support laboratory, greenhouse, and field research involving wild and cultivated peanut germplasm. Laboratory responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
DNA extraction; setup of small-scale genotyping reactions; assisting with the establishment and evaluation of bioassays; organization and maintenance of the seed bank; and preparation of solutions and reagents.
Greenhouse duties include planting, maintaining, scouting, and harvesting plants; collecting plant material for experiments; making crosses; mixing soil; filling pots; and maintaining cleanliness and organization of greenhouse facilities.
Field responsibilities include travel to peanut field sites; assisting with planting, phenotyping, and harvesting; and conducting post-harvest processing activities such as cleaning, shelling, weighing, and organizing seed and data.
This position is grant-funded. While continued funding and employment are anticipated, they cannot be guaranteed. |

- Good organization skills.
- Knowledge of basic plant life cycle and genetics.
- Knowledge of basic molecular biology laboratory techniques.
- Knowledge of lab protocols and equipment is expected.
