The Role

As the Lead Associate, Social Media Content, you'll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will contribute your passion for creating and your social media expertise to a high-volume social media team. You'll translate digital strategy into bold, socialfirst storytelling that pushes Save the Children into the center of the cultural conversations shaping childhood today. You will balance creative brainstorming, content production, and social media management to support Save the Children's overall marketing, communications, and fundraising strategy.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Content Production & Posting (60%)



  • Working with social media team members to conceptualize, plan, produce, and share engaging content on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter/X, YouTube, and other emerging social platforms
  • Designing attention-grabbing graphics for social media channels and digital platforms
  • Producing video content from ideation and script writing through final editing
  • Pitching and coordinating live video streaming events for social media channels


Collaboration (20%)



  • Collaborating with the Save the Children's creative team on complex and broad-reaching projects
  • Partnering with internal teams to ensure alignment with the latest branding guidelines and secure approvals when needed
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders to gather assets, develop social media content, and deliver the final products


Industry Knowledge & Content Strategy (15%)



  • Staying current on social media trends, identifying content opportunities, and sharing best practices with relevant internal partners
  • Tracking performance of social content using native platform analytics, various social listening tools, and regular reports to inform product strategy


Community Management (5%)



  • Monitoring brand reputation through social listening, identifying opportunities for engagement, and escalating potential concerns to the appropriate departments


Required Qualifications for the Role



  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • 3 years creating graphic and video content for a brand or missiondriven organization


  • Professional experience using social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter/X, and YouTube, as well as social media management and analysis tools (Sprout, Hootsuite, Monday)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Premiere, and Illustrator) and Canva
  • Experience using a wide range of content collection equipment, including DSLR cameras, stabilizers, and sound equipment
  • Ability to follow established brand guidelines and write "in voice"
  • Proven experience managing multiple simultaneous projects, priorities, and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% to capture multimedia content
  • Availability to participate in a rotating weekend and holiday oncall schedule to support realtime and emergent social media needs.
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English


Preferred qualifications for the role



  • Experience handling sensitive topics with sound judgment and a high level of discretion
  • Ability to balance emotional storytelling with ethical representation
  • Experience working with talent, influencer and contentcreator ecosystems
  • Understanding of international organizations and charities


Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:



  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $72,250 - $80,750 base salary


  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $65,450 - $73,150 base salary
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $59,500 - $66,500 base salary


The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
