Description

Our Ambulatory Surgery clinic is seeking to hire a full-time Medical Assistant III to join our work-class Surgery Department. You will plan an essential role in supporting patient care in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. You'll work closely with physicians and nurse practitioners to provide compassionate, highly quality care to patients across all ages.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Room patients, obtain and record vital signs, and document care accurately in CareConnect
  • Prepare patients and treatment rooms for exams and assist physicians during procedures
  • Perform routine clinical tasks, venipuncture, lab tests, and specimen preparation
  • Support patient education and coordinate follow-ups, referrals, and prescription refills
  • Maintain clinical areas, supplies, and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and assist during emergency situations
  • Please note: you will be required to float to all our UCLA Surgery Clinic as needed
$29.46-$38.87
Qualifications

Medical Assistant Certification.
Valid CPR Certification.
Ability to perform basic clerical function and clinical duties.
Ability to utilize computer system for appointment scheduling, clinical and patient data collection.
Ability to perform as back-up person for back office.
Ability to set priorities, organize work and demonstrate flexibility in work schedule as needed.
Ability to recognize and accept direction from Manager and Supervisor.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and distractions.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a collaborative working relationship with members of the health care team, patients and their family.
Ability to maintain efficient patient flow.
Demonstrate ability to work independently and skill in performing a variety of rapidly changing duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Demonstrate knowledge of patient care concepts and practices.
Ability to perform basic patient care functions.
Ability to recognize emergent situations.
Ability to prioritize actual and potential problems.
Knowledge of general surgery procedures and medications, provide patients and family teaching and instructions.
Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic sterile technique.
Maintain medical equipment, instruments and inventories of supplies.
Ability to assist physicians in a clinical setting and in minor procedures.
Maintain patient and family privacy, comfort, dignity and safety.
Ability to provide patient education.
Ability to have flexibility in work schedules and locations as needed.
Ability to work occasional overtime.
