Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Identify and provide data to support improvements in efficiency and profitability by analyzing systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations. Utilize data analysis and business acumen to help the plant run smoothly and meet their goals. Reviews company policies, procedures, and functions to find areas of improvement. Review financial and operational performance data, building reports based on these findings and recommending programs to improve the company's performance metrics. This position involves working in a close cross-functional team environment supporting Howmet's various departments across the facility.

Roles:

* Analyze data
Interacting with internal customers to drive validation trials, implement process improvements, and integrate predictive models using big data.
* Identify problems
Identify areas for development and problems in labor utilization, labor efficiency, production scheduling, or any other area of business with impact to financial and operational performance.
* Make recommendations
Use findings to suggest strategic adjustments and improvements to processes and systems
* Create reports
Write reports and memos to explain findings and recommendations to managers, executives, and other officials
* Collaborate
Work with other analysts and with the management of an organization

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Constructing and manipulating large datasets using tools like SAS, SQL, Python, R, MiniTab, PowerBI, and more to extract multi-factor interactions and drive change.
* Solving operational, quality, and engineering problems using big data
* Identifying opportunities and deploying tools to drive continuous improvement through data analytics.
* Driving a data-driven culture across the organization through expanding applications and training
* Examine the data to figure out what is important to the problem and which methods are best to analyze it
* Use statistical methods to analyze information and develop solutions to business problems
* Advise managers on findings and the various courses they can take to address the problem
* Write memos and reports for managers to look over the findings and recommendations.
* Interacting with internal customers to drive validation trials, implement process improvements, and integrate predictive models using big data.
* Use statistical and mathematical models and computer software to analyze data from a variety of sources, such as databases, revenue and job mix history, and labor reports.
* Follow 5S rules and procedures.
* Utilize help chain when needed. (Human Performance, BOLO)
* Works overtime as needed.
* Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

* A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems Management., or related
* Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
* This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Professional data science experience or a graduate data science degree.
* Demonstrated success applying advanced statistical methods and/or machine learning algorithms to production/field data using Python or R
