Working closely with the leadership team under limited supervision facilitates the development and achievement of operational, financial, and strategic objectives for GBMC Health Partners. The Executive Director of Finance, as the senior Finance executive for GBMC Health Partners, oversees financial performance, accounting and reporting, practice management economics, operating and capital budgeting, long-range financial forecasting, performance benchmarking, physician compensation model design and management, and pro forma development for practice acquisitions and strategic initiatives. Directly supervises the Director of Revenue Cycle, Senior Business Director, and Senior Financial Analyst positions. This position directly reports to the EVP and CFO of GBMC Healthcare and indirectly reports to the VP and COO of Health Partners

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Health, or another closely related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of professional-level administration and/or operations experience, including at least five (5) years of fiscal responsibilities, or five (5) years of broad and diversified professional-level management experience that included fiscal management responsibilities within a complex health care system, center, or Physician enterprise.

  • As the Senior Finance Executive for Health Partners, the Executive Director of Finance will hold a highly visible role and be included in strategic decisions for the Physician Enterprise of GBMC Healthcare
  • Key priorities include overseeing the financial operations for Health Partners' Physician practices with a focus on optimizing efficiency, access, throughput, and Provider productivity that's highly aligned with best practice and industry benchmarks
  • Serves as Finance lead for the development of Health Partners' operating and capital budget, long-range strategic plan, and in the development of actionable executive-level analysis and reporting

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs daily financial operations for GBMC Health Partners and implements financial policies, best practices, internal controls, accounting processes, and cost controls.
  • Develops and executes financial strategies aligned with GBMC Healthcare's mission, growth goals, and Physician enterprise priorities
  • Monitors and improves financial performance through ongoing productivity analysis, cost containment, and benchmarking of Physicians and Staff.
  • Participates in strategic and operational planning as a member of the GBMC Health Partners senior management team.
  • Leads the development of operating and capital budgets for the GBMC Health Partners, ensuring alignment with system-wide financial targets.
  • Designs and manages providers' compensation models that support value-based care, access, and productivity goals
  • Advises, counsels, and educates Executives, Physicians, and Management on the financial impact of their decisions through analysis and data-driven persuasiveness
  • Meets with Providers as needed to educate, clarify, and explain financial concerns that may impact them.
  • Builds strong relationships with Physician leaders, System Executives, and external partners to align financial goals, strategy, and drive collaboration.
  • Collaborates with revenue cycle leaders to improve collections, payer enrollments, credentialing, and billing efficiency to the highest possible levels of performance.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements, including labor and FTE optimization, to close financial gaps.
  • Analyze the fiscal implications of outside practices joining GBMC Health Partners.
  • Coordinates with the Managed Care Office to help negotiate and analyze third-party fee schedules.
  • Oversees all aspects of Provider compensation modeling, benchmarking, plan development, plan administration, and processes for current and future employment contracts.
  • Ensures accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory and audit requirements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Plans, coordinates, and prepares for the year-end audit and tax and/or regulatory filings. Ensures regulatory filings, including Medicare cost reports, are completed accurately and on time.
  • Serves as a liaison between the managers and the Departments of Finance, Human Resources, and other hospital departments to facilitate problem solving and identify areas for efficiency and/or /process improvements.
  • Prepares financial analysis, cost analysis and accounting support, including the preparation of financial statements and projects. Coordinates financial reporting required with GBMC Healthcare. Compiles, maintains, and analyzes statistical, volume, referral, leakage, practice economics, market information, and benchmarks.
  • Provides support to GBMC Healthcare General Accounting, Budget & Finance, as it relates to GBMC Health Partners.
  • Special projects on an ad-hoc basis for various financial analyses as requested.

Pay Range

$148,140.24 - $266,652.44

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
