Summary of Job Duties:The instructor is expected to promote academic excellence, provide patient care (when applicable), search for translational opportunities, and promote the health & wellness of Arkansans. Qualifications:
  • M.D. or equivalent required.

  • Completion of Residency & Fellowship as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one half-day weekly outpatient clinic focused on the management of congestive heart failure at UAMS.

  • Deliver comprehensive cardiology ward coverage for up to four weeks annually.

  • Participate in weekend call coverage for up to four weekends per year.

  • Provide weekday echocardiography call coverage not exceeding one in seven days.

  • Independently interpret and report echocardiograms for up to four half-day shifts per month.

  • Complete structural imaging training under the supervision of Dr. Srikanth Vallurupalli.

  • Develop advanced competency in echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI.

  • Achieve COCATS Level I certification in echocardiography and Level II certification in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.

  • Perform procedural imaging, including intracardiac echocardiography and structural echocardiography.

  • Gain comprehensive exposure to multimodality cardiac imaging with an emphasis on structural heart disease.

  • Actively participate in divisional educational activities, including case conferences, grand rounds, and patient safety analyses.

  • Provide instruction and mentorship to trainees in imaging laboratories and through conference-based lectures.

  • Design and complete at least one research project.

  • Submit and present an abstract at a national conference and/or publish findings in a peer-reviewed journal.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
