Environmental Finance Manager

Salary Range

$85,000 - $95,000 base salary, plus eligibility for bonuses in accordance with company incentive plans.

Position Summary

The Environmental Accountant is responsible for administering and optimizing reimbursement, cost allocation, and reporting programs across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, experience with activitybased costing, and the ability to harmonize complex regulatory and contractual requirements across states.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage EPR reimbursement programs across multiple jurisdictions, including development and maintenance of monthly and quarterly reporting for recycling and related services.
  • Ensure reimbursement claims align with approved zone pricing or costbased reimbursement models and comply with applicable laws, regulations, contracts, and program requirements.
  • Establish, document, and maintain consistent, auditable processes for tracking household services, cubic yard volumes, material types collected, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with CAA and other regulatory or oversight bodies to support review, documentation, and approval of cost allocation methodologies across jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Operations, IT, Accounting, and divisional teams to identify best practices, improve existing processes, and harmonize methodologies and strategies across states.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing analysis, documentation, and explanations related to reimbursement and cost allocation.
  • Help with other Region Level Accounting duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience working with financial systems, reporting tools, and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work crossfunctionally with Legal, Operations, Accounting, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with cost allocation models, including activitybased costing.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience working with financial systems, reporting tools, and data analysis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations, contracts, and reimbursement requirements.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance compliance, consistency, and operational practicality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fastpaced, matrixed environment.
