Overview

Within the Corporate Bank (CB) Production Services area, you will be part of a new team driving and supporting infrastructure improvements within the CB Information Technology (IT) application space. This position will achieve an improvement in the stability of the CB application portfolio, increased resilience and recoverability routines as well as improved performance and efficient usage of infrastructure estate. Driving significant reduction of infrastructure related incidents, applying expert insights on aspects of the infrastructure to ensure best practices are utilized across the space, you will be an expert and go to person for advice and forensic analysis in your infrastructure field.

What You'll Do

  • Proactively assess CB applications use of Infrastructure and identify opportunities for improving resilience, stability and efficiency

  • Design, plan and implement improvements associated with your infrastructure area of expertise

  • Act as liaison between CB IT and core Infrastructure teams, forming a solid network of support and expertise within the wider teams to support when required

  • Engagement on Major Incidents for CB Applications involving infrastructure components

  • Problem Management - Permanent resolutions - 'Fix once, Fix everywhere, Fix Faster' / increase Mean Times Between Failures including Root Cause identification

How You'll Lead

  • Ensure regular connects across teams in region - fostering a one team approach

  • Know respective senior stakeholders in your region and foster collaboration and partnership

  • Drive recruiting in region (when applicable) and ensure a consistent approach to quality and skillsets identification

Skills You'll Need

  • Extensive Senior System Administration or Engineering exposure within a UNIX and LINUX environment, at Level 3 or above, with experience in solving complex technical issues as well as performance reviews and assessments

  • UNIX: Expert working knowledge and recent experience with Solaris, RHEL (7,8, 9), SUSE (11,15), OEL, Clustering technologies (Infoscale/VCS primarily, Pacemaker also useful). AIX also useful

  • Technical knowledge and analytical skills on at least one of the following areas, Middleware - Web, Java, Weblogic, Tomcat, jBoss, Container technology such as Kubernetes or Podman, Networking or Storage (Netapp, Pure, EMC), Cloud technologies

  • Experience with monitoring and observability stack - Grafana, Splunk, Geneos, Nimsoft and New Relic also beneficial

  • Strong familiarity of UNIX scripting and/or Ansible playbooks

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Excellent forensic level troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Must be able to communicate and influence effectively across different technology teams with the ability to navigate complex environments across multiple geographic regions

  • Be eyes and ears for CB Production Infrastructure in your time zone

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary, NC office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,00 to $185,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
