The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applicants to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Professor level. Your duties in this faculty position in The Department of Pharmacology will include teaching, research, and service responsibilities, as is expected for a tenured full professor. You are expected to continue your highly productive research program supported by external funding, while securing and managing additional research grants and contracts. It is anticipated that you will foster interdisciplinary collaborations within and beyond the institution and disseminate your findings via publications and research presentations given nationally and internationally. In addition, you will supervise and mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty, promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Service responsibilities include active participation on departmental and university committees, as well as maintaining a strong presence in the academic community through leadership roles in professional societies. In your position as the Scientific Director of the Marsico Data Science Program in Pancreatic Cancer-a transformative initiative funded by a $15 million philanthropic gift-you will provide visionary leadership to advance research in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), with a focus on transforming pancreatic cancer care through next-generation data science. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing a comprehensive research roadmap for pancreatic cancer and overseeing research programs aimed at rapidly bringing novel treatments to patients. You will guide the development of patient-derived models and preclinical therapeutic pipelines, secure and manage large-scale federal and philanthropic funding, and collaborate with clinicians to design and open clinical trials informed by cutting-edge analytics. As a public-facing ambassador for the initiative, you will engage with donors, advocacy groups, and external partners. Together with Refined Science, you will contribute to business development activities, including prioritizing targets for phase 1 rescue, evaluating the competitive landscape for various targets, and establishing industry partnerships. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive research roadmap for pancreatic cancer.
- Oversee research programs with the goal of bringing novel treatments to pancreatic cancer patients rapidly
- Guide development of tumor atlases, patient-derived models, and preclinical therapeutic pipelines.
- Secure and manage large-scale federal and philanthropic funding.
- Collaborate with clinicians to design and open clinical trials informed by cutting-edge analytics.
- Recruit and mentor faculty, trainees, and staff while fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion.
- Serve as a public-facing ambassador for the initiative and engage with donors, advocacy groups, and external partners.

Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in oncology, molecular biology, pharmacology, or related field.
- Internationally recognized leader in pancreatic cancer research with:
- Continuous NIH/NCI funding for 10+ years.
- Proven success as PI on multi-project grants (e.g., NCI U-series).
- Extensive publication record
- Demonstrated ability to develop large-scale research programs and secure major funding.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Service on national/international advisory boards and consortia
- Expertise in multi-omic analytics, imaging-based detection, and systems biology approaches.
- Experience building patient sample repositories and orchestrating multi-scale imaging analytics.
- Proven ability to develop human tumor atlases and patient-derived models for therapeutic development.
- Track record of opening clinical trials in collaboration with physicians.

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $ 175,050 - $270,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
