Title: Maintenance Mechanic Dept: Maintenance

Location: Maumee, OH Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Overview:This job includes making general repairs to plant facilities and production equipment. To insure the reliability of production equipment by performing preventive maintenance activities and using best practice techniques for repairs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Follows and promotes on the job safety expectations. (Eyes, ears and L.O.T.O.)

* Comply with all OSHA required activities for PIT

* Performs routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance

* Evaluate equipment malfunctions with a sense of urgency to minimize downtime

* Read work orders and specifications for machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance

* Inspect or test damaged parts and advise supervisor of repairs needed

* Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications

* Assures that proper documentation is filled out and spare parts are accurately maintained and identified to provide rapid response to problems.

* Modify equipment as necessary to improve safety, quality, productivity and reliability

* Communicate professionally with plant personnel as to the important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and estimated time to complete the repairs or projects

* Maintain work area, equipment and tools

* Maintains proper housekeeping expectations

* Dispose of waste per company policies

* Repair, calibrate and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of electronic and pneumatic equipment

* Assist in general plant cleaning and general appearance

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Working knowledge of mechanics

* Experience with SAP CMMS or equivalent CMMS programs

* Experience with Microsoft Office programs.

* PLC software experience preferred

* Ability to read blue prints, sketches and equipment manuals

* Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring and general mechanics

* CMRT Certification required and or provable experience to be considered

* Experience with pumps (diaphragm and centrifugal) drives: gearbox, belts, chain, hydraulic, couplings, motor-air, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps, and dies

* Electrical: High voltage 480 volt 3 phase, motor controls, low voltage.

* Experience knowledge with process control transmitters and safety switches is preferred.

* Air compressor system- including filters regulators, dryers, and lubricators.

* Strong math aptitude

* Self-motivated Individual

* High School diploma or equivalent

PEFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Five (5) years Industrial Maintenance experience

* Technical School diploma

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

* Hourly position/2nd Shift
