RN - Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stress Testing

This is a licensed clinical staff position with responsibility for specified cardiac stress testing patient care duties within Cardiovascular Specialists of Central Maryland (CSCM), a practice pod of Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians LLC.

SPECIFIC TASK FUNCTIONS

1. Sets up and monitors patients for stress testing, including nuclear, pharmacological, stress echo, and regular treadmill studies.
2. Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient while conducting cardiac stress tests in the office, under the supervision of the cardiologist.

3. Preps patients for stress testing procedure, including patient interviews, measures vital signs, obtains medical history as needed, and patient teaching related to procedure including risks and complications.

4. Continuously monitors the patient's blood pressure, heart rate, EKG, and other responses to physical exertion during the test; must be knowledgeable in arrhythmias.

5. Recognizes and immediately responds to any adverse cardiac events or complications; must be familiar with medical emergencies brought on by stress testing and react accordingly.

6. May provide cross coverage for other clinical support staff as required to assure adequate patient care.

7. Maintains patient confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Graduation from an accredited RN nursing program required; minimum BSN required, MSN desirable.

2. Active MD or Compact RN license at time of hire

3. Graduation from an accredited RN nursing program required; minimum BSN required, MSN desirable.

4. Minimum of 2, preferably 3-5, years of cardiology-specific experience in physician office setting required, with at least one year of significant stress testing experience.

6. Active ACLS and CPR at time of hire

Shift: 7:30a-4pm or 8a-4:30pm - Monday-Friday Full-time (will consider part time 24-32 hours/week for an RN w/exemplary experience)

Salary Range: Minimum 35.00/hour - Maximum 49.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
