| Essential Job Duties |
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in leading and managing the day-to-day operations for Advise NC at NC State. This position will be primarily responsible for planning and implementing the recruitment and training of Next Step Advisers. This position is contingent on annual renewals of grant funding.
SUPERVISION:The Assistant Director will share supervisory responsibilities of 23 Next Step Advisers, including biannual evaluation, monthly one-on-one meetings, and site visits. As a supervisor, the Assistant Director will assess advisers' effectiveness and encourage professional development, manage adviser committees, visit advisers in their service communities, and implement methods for assuring advisers meet the goals of the program.
RECRUITMENT: The Assistant Director will lead annual recruitment of new Next Step Advisers, with assistance from the Director and other program staff.
TRAINING: The Assistant Director will develop and facilitate in-service training for advisers. In-service training will include the planning and implementation of the program's annual multi-week summer training, approximately 2-3 multi-day training sessions held at NC State University and two day-long regional meetings. In-service training also includes monthly webinars and professional development opportunities.
PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT: The Assistant Director will work with the Director in nurturing and sustaining relationships with the host institution, community partners, partner high schools and districts, and other stakeholders.
COMMUNICATION: The Assistant Director will develop marketing strategies for Advise NC at NC State, including methods to develop and maintain a social media presence and create updated marketing material. The AD will lead communication with program alumni and other key stakeholders.
DATA AND EVALUATION: The Assistant Director will work with the Director to provide effective day-to-day management and administration of Advise NC at NC State. The Assistant Director will work with the Director to assess program effectiveness through ongoing evaluation and data analysis, collect data for internal and external reports, and assist the Director in final program reports.

| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of work experience in postsecondary access programming or equivalent professional training and experience
