Summary of Position

Under general supervision of the HR Operations Manager, the People Operations Specialist is responsible the overall daily functions of Human Resources operations including onboarding, benefits, payroll, leave management, communications, reporting and analysis and other items.



This position will serve as a critical role in transforming how Curium delivers people processes and strategy to the Company. We anticipate the responsibilities of this role will evolve and grow along with the company. Thus, we expect the person coming into join the Curium family will be agile and have a great desire to learn and do more.

Essential Functions

  • Manages the pre-boarding and on-boarding of new hires including management of pre-employment offer and associated paperwork, background check processing, drug testing administration, e-verify registration, orientation and email communications to new employees
  • Maintains employee data in HRIS system including entering new hires, salary changes, transfers, terminations, etc.
  • Administers compliance process for authorization to work and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) requirements related to background screening and drug test requirements
  • Oversees leaves of absence including tracking, communication with leaders and employees, serving as liaison between 3rd party vendors
  • Administration of short-term disability program including tracking time and communicating payments to payroll
  • Administration of learning management system in Curium People Services
  • Assist in administering benefit programs including addressing employee questions
  • Assist with duties related to bi-weekly payroll processing and reporting for North America and act as back-up during the absence of Payroll Lead
  • Creates ad-hoc and standard reporting including upon request and provides regularly scheduled reports as needed
  • Manages and supports various HR and non-HR related projects
  • Supports integration activities for new Curium colleagues during acquisitions
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Technically savvy with proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software; experience with HR systems helpful.
  • Strong process orientation with ability to process map and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong customer focus with ability to balance stakeholder interests.



Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred; will consider commensurate experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in human resources in an associate, specialist or generalist role; experience in onboarding and benefits administration a plus.
  • Previous experience in payroll processing strongly preferred.



Working Conditions



  • General office environment but will occasionally attend meetings and visit employees within regulated manufacturing environment
  • Occasional, limited domestic travel may be required (10%)
