Under the general supervision of the Director and Scientist of Innovation & Product Development (PD), the incumbent is responsible for conducting a variety of research and development (R&D) efforts that may include, but not limited to, flow cytometry analysis, cell/tissues cultures, and Biochemical and Molecular biology assays (ELISA, PCR, Luminex, Multiplex assays, etc.).

  • Supervising and organizing analytical activities of the PD department.
  • Helping with training or independently training PD technologists to perform molecular biology/biochemistry lab tasks.
  • Taking part in developing new methods and technologies for R&D project advancement
  • Learning new techniques, planning and performing experiments, recording observations, keeping detailed notes, analyzing data, and providing input with results interpretations.
  • Taking part in writing protocols and SOPs.
  • Maintains a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature. May participate in scientific conferences and contribute to scientific journals.
  • Working in collaboration with PD Scientists for a variety of projects.
  • Communicating clearly and in a timely manner.

The salary range is $65,281 - $94,658. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the technical design of experiments and methods, develops conclusions, and makes recommendations for further action. Frequently designs novel methodologies for solving tactical problems alongside Scientists.
  • Conducts varied and complex experiments requiring high-level technical skills. Anticipates challenges and is able to troubleshoot common technical issues, and plan for alternatives.
  • Performs complex laboratory techniques such as, but not limited to, cell culture, flow cytometry, Multiplex, ELISA, and other assays with a significant amount of independence. Collects and analyzes data and interprets results.
  • Prepares detailed written and oral presentations of data, results, and conclusions, concisely and confidently.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant work experience or Master 's degree with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be proficient in advanced cell culture techniques, FACS and/or IHC
  • Exceptional problem solving skills and ability to resolve technical issues independently and in a timely manner. Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to pay attention to detail while multi-tasking in a fast paced work environment.
  • Strong proficiency with a variety of software tools such as Microsoft Office, GraphPad, and FlowJo.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to execute tasks in a collaborative environment. Must be able to establish two-way communication with collaborators, technicians and department heads regarding specific needs and deadlines
