POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a wide variety of duties in keeping the loadout and department(s) running productively through the direction and instruction of employees in their daily routine and offering assistance in any work area.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Production

  • Troubleshoot, recognize, and resolve any problems that may arise.
  • Make alternate changes due to breakdowns or emergency cases.
  • Fill out the production report at the end of the shift and turn it into a supervisor.
  • Support the repair of any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns.
  • Assist in cleaning rail and truck loadout areas.
  • Fill in for Operators when required or needed.
  • Clean, load, and seal railcars.
  • Operate railcar movers from cab and remote.
  • Assist and back up the truck loadout position.
  • Monitor transwide to load and ticket trucks correctly.
  • Complete all work assigned in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Report promptly any potential operational or safety problem to supervision.
  • Ability to safely operate dump truck and water truck as well as other mobile equipment.
  • Assist during outages and other repairs.
  • Perform all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Safety

  • Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations.
  • Comply with company General Conduct and Safety Rules.

Quality

  • Perform required Lab Tests.

Safe Quality Food (SQF)

  • Ensure a SQF workplace and follow regulatory compliance with Federal FDA - Food Modernization Safety Act (CFR Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, Part 507).
  • Support Environmental Health and Safety, as well as SQF initiatives and awareness programs.
  • Be a leader and promoter of employee safety and SQF culture.
  • Following completion of SQF training, demonstrate understanding of expected safety, SQF performance and Food Safety Culture.
  • Complete periodic SQF training(s).
  • Each site location will ensure training is conducted for new employees and continued for existing employees.
  • Employees will actively participate in audits for regulatory, safety, SQF and environmental compliance at the site.

Perform other duties as assigned.

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week, if needed.
  • Must be able to multitask with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs.
  • Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co-workers.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Must possess the basic reading and math skills.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills on how to use MS Office products and SAP and JWS Shipping System.
  • Strong record of attendance reliability.
  • Must know, understand, and observe all department and plant safety rules and maintain a high level of housekeeping in assigned work areas.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required of this job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
  • Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a lime/mineral environment.
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Lime/Mineral Particles.
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
  • Ability to frequently lift/carry 35 pounds.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or demonstrated skills or ability.

PREFFERED EDUCATION:

  • Technical training or AA degree in technical related field is desired.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and previous experience in mining and/or heavy manufacturing environments.

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous leadership experience, 3+ years mining operation experience, ability to identify any potential hazard that would cause damage or harm employee(s), public, and/or asset is preferred.
