Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking to hire a Training Support Specialist that will play a key role in the development, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of training programs. This role involves providing administrative, logistical, and programmatic support to training initiatives, ensuring that employees, researchers, and other stakeholders receive effective and compliant training to meet organizational, safety, and regulatory standards. The successful candidate should have excellent organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a strong commitment to professional development within a highly technical and innovative laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Training Program Coordination:
    • Coordinate training schedules, instructor availability, and venue logistics for in-person and virtual training sessions.
    • Serve as a point of contact for staff regarding training inquiries and scheduling needs.
  2. Content Development and Delivery Support:
    • Assist subject matter experts in creating, updating, and maintaining training materials (presentations, manuals, recordings, etc.).
    • Ensure training materials are in compliance with regulatory and laboratory standards.
    • Support instructors in delivering training, including preparing training tools and resources.
  3. Compliance and Record Maintenance:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of training records in accordance with organizational and regulatory policies.
    • Track employee training progress and ensure timely completion of required sessions and certifications.
    • Produce reports on training participation and compliance metrics.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with technical leads, human resources, and department heads to assess training needs and prioritize offerings.
    • Act as a liaison between various laboratory divisions to ensure consistent training delivery.
    • Conduct surveys and gather feedback from employees to evaluate and enhance program effectiveness.
  5. Technology and Tools Management:
    • Utilize learning management systems (LMS) to schedule, track, and manage training programs.
    • Stay informed about new training technologies and recommend tools to optimize learning outcomes.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues during virtual and hybrid training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, organizational development, science, technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7 years of relevant experience in training coordination, instructional design, or administrative support in a technical or scientific environment.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards, such as OSHA, ISO, or similar regulations within a laboratory or research institution.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas) and virtual communication platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a national laboratory or nuclear facility.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations within laboratory settings.
  • Qualification in instructional design, project management, or related areas.
