The Simulator Development & Integration team is leading the way in developing advanced simulation training tools used in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) to train Sailors. This business area continues to expand as the demand for high fidelity, reliable, and cost-effective training solutions grows. Currently, there is an opportunity for a highly qualified and motivated project engineer as part of the Next Generation Training Program (NGTP), and its suite of simulators, which will be developed and delivered over the next two decades. The team needs versatile engineers who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment in both individual and team roles. The successful candidate will be responsible for various phases of complex technical projects, from initial planning and scoping to installation and delivery. Specific duties and responsibilities for this role include:
The position requires close interaction and coordination with other engineers, project managers, and management across multiple sites and organizations to ensure successful completion of project objectives, including close collaboration with stakeholders across NNL, BPMI, Naval Reactors, and sub-tier suppliers. Periodic travel to NNPP and sub-tier supplier sites is required to effectively manage project execution. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science or construction field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company. Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range
$85,200.00 - $133,200.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
