Responsibilities

  • Assist with the nursing care of patients preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards of the department and hospital practice and policies.
  • Responsible for the preparation, disbursement of surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation - pre, intra, and post-operatively.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles of asepsis

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the standards of AORN guidelines

  • Assume responsibility for clinical competence and professional development

  • Participate in the responsible management of all departmental resources

  • Takes call as required by the department


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or Certified Surgical Technologist
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
