Position Summary

Lead and direct the management of a wide variety of complex administrative functions for the Undergraduate Drama department. Develop and execute faculty related processes and procedures including but not limited to contract reviews of all arts professors and tenure track faculty, full-time faculty grant processes, full-time faculty searches, and adjunct onboarding to support accomplishing academic and programmatic goals. Manage services for full-time, adjunct, and visiting faculty, including appointment, re-appointment and promotion etc. Manage strategic direction for and execution of department curriculum services including course inventories, new course submission, space inventory. Advise departmental leadership and faculty on University policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. Respond to sensitive and confidential inquiries and issues. Serve as liaison with school and University offices; interpret University policies and ensure departmental compliance.


Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in higher education administration or arts related degree or training

Required Experience:
5+ years progressively responsible experience with coordination of academic, faculty administrative services and human resources management. Must include experience in interpreting and communicating policies to various stakeholders.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years Directing high-level office operations and advising leadership on complex confidential and sensitive issues. Prior experience in academic and/or faculty services office, or a combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent customer service, problem solving, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to deliver consistently high quality, timely service and handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously in a high volume academic environment. Ability to establish priorities and to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative, and follow through to completion. Ability to interpret policies to faculty and senior level executives. Ability to develop relationships with key constituents at all levels of the school and throughout the University. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion. Knowledge of standard office software. Demonstrated ability to adapt successfully to fast-paced and changing work environment and needs.


Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
