Job Overview

This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end IT Asset Management (ITAM) lifecycle across hardware, software, and cloud resources, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and cost optimization. The position leverages ServiceNow ITAM capabilities-including Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Discovery, and CMDB-to provide full visibility into assets, automate workflows, and support informed decision-making. The role partners closely with IT, finance, procurement, and business stakeholders to enforce standardized processes, mitigate risk, optimize licensing, and deliver actionable insights that support operational efficiency and strategic planning.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets-from acquisition and deployment to retirement-ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance standards.
  • Maintain a complete and accurate inventory of all IT hardware and software assets using IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools and databases.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT asset management policies, procedures, and standards to govern the lifecycle and compliance of all IT assets.
  • Manage software licenses, renewals, and compliance-including enterprise agreements and tools such as Adobe, Matlab, Tableau, etc.
  • Track and optimize license usage to avoid over-provisioning or non-compliance.
  • Coordinate with procurement, finance, and IT teams to forecast asset requirements and assist with budgeting and financial planning.
  • Monitor vendor performance, manage vendor relationships, and ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Prepare reports on asset utilization, software compliance, cost optimization, and performance. Support internal and external audits related to IT assets.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of data across all ITAM systems and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to reduce costs, minimize risk, and enhance the efficiency of IT asset usage.
  • Work closely with other departments including procurement, finance, legal, and IT operations to ensure asset practices align with organizational objectives.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant education, experience and/or other specialized training can fulfill minimum education and experience requirements.

Required Experience

  • 3 years of experience in IT software and hardware asset management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware and software procurement, deployment, and support processes.
  • Experience with ITAM or CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Lansweeper, Flexera).
  • Experience with software licensing models and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with contract negotiation and vendor management.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM) practices.
  • Experience in large enterprise environments.
  • ITIL certification or similar.
  • Previous experience in higher ed.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Salary/Hourly Pay Rate Information: 70,000.00-78,000.000
