iGrid is developing cuttingedge, innovative applications on AWS that are transforming the utility industry. Our products help business partners anticipate future energy demand, identify grid upgrade needs, and advance datadriven investment plans-strengthening grid resiliency and accelerating the integration of renewable energy.

We are seeking an IT Software Engineer who wants to build meaningful, modern cloud solutions and contribute to the future of the electric grid.

What you'll do
You'll engineer cloudnative solutions across the full stack, from backend services and data pipelines to intuitive frontend experiences, all of which support the analytics and decisionmaking that power our gridmodernization mission. Day to day, you'll apply modern engineering practices-Agile, automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, observability, and securebydesign-to deliver highquality software, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve performance and reliability in production. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, data engineers, and grid SMEs to convert real operational challenges into elegant, maintainable solutions that make a visible difference for our customers and communities.

Our stack
We build on a broad set of AWS services-S3, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch (and more)-choosing the right tools for reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Basic/Required Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Information Technology or Other Related Degree

  • Minimum 3 years related work experience

  • In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 3 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 5 year(s) related work experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Handson experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch).

  • Solid backend engineering and API development skills; comfortable with SQL/NoSQL data stores.

  • Working knowledge of cloudnative patterns (eventdriven services, microservices, automation, CI/CD).

  • Familiarity with Agile, TDD, code reviews, and automated testing in a CI/CD environment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and build secure, reliable, maintainable systems.

  • Teamoriented communicator who is eager to learn, thrives in a fastpaced setting, and enjoys working with cuttingedge technologies.

Working Conditions
  • Hybrid Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.

Why iGrid?
Impact that matters (cleaner, more reliable energy), a collaborative engineering culture, and meaningful problems at scale-where your code ships, runs in production, and directly advances our strategy.

If you're passionate about cloud engineering, driven by continuous improvement, and ready to work on software that truly matters, we'd love to meet you.

Apply now to join iGrid and help build the future of clean, reliable energy.
