Description
The Office of the Queens County District Attorney is seeking Reporters/Stenographers for our Grand Jury Bureau to take and transcribe confidential Grand Jury testimony, which often entails sensitive matters and expert testimony. Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to:
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma, or equivalent, and a Graduate Certificate at 225 WPM from a Court Reporting Institution; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Appointment Requirement: Starting salary is $69,000, and increases to $72,353 after passing and appointed from the Reporter/Stenographer civil service exam or attaining a bachelor's degree. After two years with a permanent civil service status and successful testing at 200 WPM, salary increases to $85,540. Upon the completion of six years in the position, salary will increase to $91,781.
