    • The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is a dynamic and rapidly growing academic unit committed to excellence in clinical care, medical education, and research. Our department includes multiple specialty divisions and plays an integral role in undergraduate medical education, an ACGME - accredited residency, and subspecialty fellowship training. Faculty are deeply engaged in advancing patient-centered care, community health, and innovative clinical and translational research. AS a part of an academic-community partnership with Renown Health, the department is uniquely positioned to expand access to high-quality care across northern Nevada while training the next generation of physicians and health professionals.




  • About the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

    • The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division is a unique collaboration between UNR Med, Renown Health and several community-based clinical partners. The division aims to improve the mental health of Nevada youths by training the next generation of knowledgeable, skilled and empathetic child and adolescent psychiatrists. This division emphasizes treatment with a balance of biological and psychosocial interventions at the individual, family and systems-based levels.




  • Position Highlights

    • Full-time academic appointment with a robust clinic practice in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry across various outpatient settings and consult-liaison services as a part of the multidisciplinary teams.
    • Protected time for scholarly activity, including education, QI, or clinical research.
    • Monday - Friday schedule with XX:XX call rotation (phone)

  • Qualifications

    • MD or DO and Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
    • Training or experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry strongly preferred
    • Eligible for Nevada medical licensure, DEA registration, and scholarly activity
