Sr. Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support a large-scale ERP migration initiative within a manufacturing environment. This role will be instrumental in migrating enterprise data from a homegrown legacy ERP system to MS Dynamics 365 and enabling reliable, analytics-ready data for business stakeholders.

The Senior Data Engineer will focus heavily on extracting data from Dynamics 365, building scalable cloud-based data pipelines, and transforming data into trusted datasets used for reporting and analytics. You will work closely with Business Analysts and Data Architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Transformation (Primary Focus)

• Extract and ingest data from MS Dynamics 365 (D365) into the enterprise data platform.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern cloud data technologies.
• Use DBT to implement a medallion architecture (raw, cleansed, curated layers).
• Clean, standardize, and resolve data quality issues in raw and intermediate data layers.
• Design and develop facts and dimensions using dimensional modeling best practices.
• Deliver curated, analytics-ready data products that meet business and reporting needs.

Data Quality & Testing

• Validate data outputs against Business Analyst-provided test cases.
• Implement unit tests and data quality checks for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and grain.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines to ensure reliability and performance.
