Hourly Pay Range:

$61.48 - $95.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Clinical Pharmacist Specialist
  • Location: Primarily rotating across Kellogg Cancer Center (Evanston, Glenview, and Highland Park locations) with occasional rotation to Swedish Cancer Center, Niles Infusion Center, and Arlington Heights Infusion Center as needed
  • Full Time - 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Rotating Shifts Monday-Thursday, 7am -6pm, Friday 7am -5pm
  • Required Travel: Yes

A Brief Overview:
The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist plays a pivotal role in optimizing patient care by collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective use of medications. As a member of our pharmacy team, you will provide specialized pharmaceutical services, conduct medication reviews, and contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guideline.

What you will do:

  • Assess the medication needs of patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor and review medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Provide medication counseling to patients and their caregivers.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and outcomes.
  • Offer drug information and recommendations to healthcare professionals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate in research and quality improvement projects related to pharmaceutical care.
  • Identify and report medication errors and adverse drug events.
  • Stay current with developments in pharmacy practice and contribute to the professional growth of the department.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all pharmaceutical activities.

What you will need:

  • Doctorate Pharmacy Required Or
  • PHD Pharmacy Required
  • Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent experience preferred.
