Responsibilities

University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator/ICN (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staff Educator/ICN (RN) is responsible for promoting, planning, designing, coordinating, and evaluating training and educational activities for both clinical and non-clinical staff. In addition, this individual will be taking care of the duties assigned to ICN.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Coordinating with nursing service in designing, evaluating, planning, presenting, and reviewing educational programs to meet the needs of orientation, in-service education, and continuing education of hospital personnel.
  • Completing all nursing education in required time frames and ensures compliance with all standards of practice and regulatory requirements. Implements as needed education in order to improve and enhance nursing practice within the Hospital.
  • Coordinating and training existing employees on new policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating and training RN/MHT new hires on the units, monitors and documents progression during the first year of hire.
  • Performing the re-training required for staff performance improvement plans as assigned by unit managers.
  • Participating in the selection of audiovisual and other resources.
  • Providing records of general hospital orientation and mandatory in-service attendance to CNO.
  • Operating as the Infection Control Nurse to provide appropriate care to patients.
  • Scheduling monthly hospital required in-services and follows up with employees and managers to maintain compliance.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current and valid RN license in the State of Florida required.
  • Experience with providing opportunities to refine competencies in nursing practice and the application of administrative principles required.
  • Additional educational preparation or certification is desirable.
  • Certification as a BCLS: CPR instructor preferred.
  • Employee must be in good standing (evaluation/employment history, corrective action, etc.) to be considered for internal transfer.
