Deriva is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst (SSA) that is experienced in implementing and supporting solutions for Renewable site generation operations including standing up new sites. The current application portfolio consists of solutions existing on-prem, Deriva AWS/Azure cloud, and vendor hosted. This role will be implementing and supporting applications that exist in a NERC CIP environment. Post application implementation this role will support, maintain, and enhance the applications working with the business and IT. The SSA would be responsible for day-to-day support/answering questions related to applications along with documenting requirements, configuring, testing, and deploying bug fixes or enhancements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead, deliver, and implement projects related to Generation Operational Systems including Aveva PI, GE EMS, MAXIMO, EZ MAX, MV 90, VT SCADA, and KPA Flex systems

  • Provide post implementation support for all Generation Operational Systems including on-call responsibilities.

  • Develop project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, objectives, and requirements for Generation Operational Systems implementations and enhancements

  • Define the system infrastructure requirements (Cloud, Physical, SAAS) for each system including the production, QA, and testing environments

  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to procure necessary resources and technologies for Generation Operational Systems for projects, enhancements, and support.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to communicate project objectives, progress, and outcomes, fostering a culture of safety awareness and compliance

  • Conduct regular project and portfolio reviews to assess performance, address challenges, and implement continuous improvement measures

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and drive successful project outcomes.

  • Interact and provide support for end users including training

  • Provide periodic 24x7 on-call rotation support

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field

  • In addition to an bachelor's degree, three (3) years or more of relevant work experience

  • In lieu of an bachelor's degree, a HS Diploma/GED with 8 years of relevant work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field

  • Proven experience as a Systems Analyst, specifically in Generation Operational Systems

  • Experience or knowledge of generation operational systems Aveva PI, GE EMS, MAXIMO, EZ MAX, MV 90, VT SCADA, and KPA Flex systems

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (MS Project, Jira)

  • Strong understanding of Generation Operational Systems principles, regulations, and industry best practices

  • Experience in Renewable Generation (Solar, Wind, Battery) Systems

  • Experience working with NERC CIP and SOX requirements

  • Proven experience in data architecture, solution architecture, and system integration

  • Experience with Alteryx, SQL Server, Power BI, AWS, Azure, and Workato is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and affectively with executives, managers, and subject matter experts

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a conscientious, consistent, and thorough manner
