Application Window Open date: January 27, 2026 Next review date: Tuesday, Feb 10, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Feb 27, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar Employee in the Brar Lab, in the area of links between translation and protein complex assembly. This project was recently funded by a W.M. Keck Foundation grant to Professor Brar, and is focused on globally defining and understanding protein complexes that assemble during the synthesis of their component subunits, and how protein synthesis and cellular proteostasis are connected. This is a non- federal grant, providing stable support for this project. The postdoc would be focused initially on methods development, building on work from the Brar lab within the collaborative environment of the Brar-Unal lab and the MCB department. This is a project focused on fundamental biology, initially using yeast cells as a eukaryotic model system. It is an ideal position for a postdoc interested in building a research program for a future independent academic position. Qualifications Basic qualifications
