The Senior Licensed Vocational Nurse
(LVN) supports diagnostic breast imaging and interventional procedures at our Imaging
and Interventional Centers and other UCLA Health radiology sites, providing
care across screening, diagnostic and procedural workflows. Responsibilities
include coordinating patients for breast imaging services, assisting with image
guided breast biopsies, preparing sterile fields, performing difficult IV
starts and supporting imaging modalities within scope of practice. The LVN
works closely with radiologists by preparing and collating biopsy imaging,
assisting during procedures and coordinating patient care before and after
interventions. You will be required to rotate to other Imaging Centers staffed
by UCLA Health. Additional duties include but are not limited to:


  • Performing and
    monitoring vital signs such pulse oximetry and respiratory rate
  • Recognizing and
    communicating abnormalities
  • Assisting with patient
    mobility and supporting efficient patient flow through clinical and
    operational tasks
  • Performing EKGs

Salary: $36.34 to $47.94 Hourly

Qualifications

  • Active
    California LVN license with Intravenous Therapy and blood withdrawal
    certification - required
  • BCLS from American Heart Association or American
    Red Cross - required
  • 6 months of LVN experience - required
  • At least 2 years of relevant clinical LVN
    experience - strongly preferred
  • Phlebotomy Certificate - required
  • Ability to interpret EKG basic arrhythmias, the
    components of the EKG waveform including PR interval and ST segment.
  • Ability to skillfully administer oral, IM and
    subcutaneous medications
  • Knowledge and ability to set up and assist
    physician with any procedures within ones scope of practice
  • Skill to accurately perform a 12-lead EKG
