Summary of Position In response to the expansion of additive manufacturing applications and markets in recent years, ASTM International established the Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE). Through collaboration among industry, government, and academia, the AM CoE addresses the need for industry standards. It achieves this goal through world-class advisory services, publications, workforce development, and other education and training activities that help expand and mature the AM industry. In 2021, ASTM International acquired Wohlers Associates (WA), an AM advisory group and market intelligence firm. WA provides technical, market, and strategic advisory services on the new developments and trends in rapid product development and AM. For 31 years, WA has published the Wohlers Report, an undisputed industry-leading publication on 3D printing. We are seeking a talented Additive Manufacturing (AM) Associate Data Scientist to join our team. This role, under the umbrella of ASTM International's Advanced Manufacturing Programs Division, demands an adaptive and independent individual. The Associate Data Scientist will support WA and ASTM International in advancing market intelligence capabilities for the AM and other emerging technologies. This role focuses on data exploration, market intelligence tool support, and rapid experimentation with AI-enabled solutions. The individual will help bridge industry expertise with emerging technologies by supporting MVP development, AI tool evaluation, data collection and consolidation, and data-driven reporting initiatives. *Please note that this opportunity is for a fully remote contract position.
