Job Summary

Manage and coordinate all aspects of credit and collections. Notify customers of delinquent accounts to solicit payment, receive payment and post amount to customer's account; keep records of collection and status of accounts.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Reviews and approves credit applications.
  • Reviews customer contracts
  • Prepares credit reports.
  • Works with customers to pay amount due on credit account, damage claim, or non-payable check, or negotiates extension of credit.
  • Reports status of accounts and contracts regularly.
  • Prepares legal documents, as needed.
  • Interviews, selects, and trains staff.

Typical Training/Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally, 7+ years of experience in a related field.
  • May require certification.
  • Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.

Leadership

  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • No travel required.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Credit & Collections experience in a commercial distribution and/or contractor supply business
  • Demonstrated understanding of lien laws in the state(s) that comprises the region in which they manage
  • Some travel required. Working in multiple ERP systems
  • Prefer experience Excel spreadsheets.
