Premium Audit Intern

MEMIC
$22/hr
United States, Maine, Portland
261 Commercial Street (Show on map)
Jan 27, 2026

If you’re curious, detail‑oriented, and love understanding how different pieces of a process fit together, this internship will give you a front‑row seat to the full audit lifecycle. You’ll rotate through four audit teams, learn how each one operates, and help build tools and documentation that make our work stronger and more efficient.

This is a hands‑on, immersive experience where you’ll shadow experts, update real SOPs, and help create the official audit manual used across the organization.

What You’ll Experience in Your Rotations

  • Technical & Specialty Audit – Get introduced to MEMIC’s audit process and learn how unique audit processes operate
  • Audit Operations – See how inbox management, audit reports, and communication standards keep everything running smoothly
  • Audit Analysts – Gain insight into variance reviews, classification checks, and quality control practices
  • Physical Audit Team – Observe field audit preparation, documentation standards, and expectations for customer interactions

Each rotation lasts about 2.5 weeks, and you’ll shadow a designated team member to understand how their work aligns with existing SOPs.

What You’ll Work On

  • Review and update SOPs across all audit teams
  • Add missing documentation to SharePoint and review existing materials
  • Identify gaps and create a list of missing procedures for each department
  • Collaborate with management to help build the official audit manual
  • Wrap up the internship with a summary of your findings and finalized SOP updates

Throughout the program, you’ll have a mentor for each rotation and ongoing support whenever you need guidance.

What You Bring

  • Pursuing an Associate’s degree or higher
  • Comfortable using Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Adaptable, flexible, and self‑directed — you manage your time well and stay organized
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

Why You’ll Love This Internship

You won’t just observe — you’ll contribute. You’ll learn how multiple audit teams function, help strengthen documentation across the department, and leave with a deep understanding of how audit supports the business. This is perfect for someone who loves structure, process, and continuous improvement.
