Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Data Systems Analyst plays a critical role in supporting aerospace manufacturing operations through the analysis and optimization of complex data systems. This position ensures the integrity, accessibility, and usability of production, quality, and supply chain data to support decision-making across engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams. The analyst develops methodologies for data collection, analysis, and presentation, contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and assess complex manufacturing data systems to support both ad-hoc and recurring internal and customer requests.
  • Develop programs, tools, and data files to analyze and present production, quality, and performance metrics.
  • Evaluate data quality and system functionality across manufacturing, tooling, and supply chain platforms.
  • Maintain data operations and ensure timely, accurate output for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Research new data sources, technologies, and analytical tools to enhance aerospace data capabilities.
  • Support new product development and improve delivery of data-driven insights for engineering and operations teams.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and organizational developments affecting aerospace manufacturing.
  • Utilize and support ERP, MES, and PLM systems, along with analytical platforms such as SQL, Python, and Tableau.
  • Collaborate with production teams, engineers, and customers to define data requirements and reporting specifications.
  • Interpret manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Design and implement methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data related to production efficiency, defect rates, and throughput.
  • Communicate findings effectively through reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify system or process inefficiencies and engage cross-functional teams in problem-solving and resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and customer data reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in data analysis within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Proficiency in database tools and analytical software (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing systems such as ERP, MES, PLM, and SPC platforms.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AS9100 or other aerospace quality standards.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Understanding of aerospace supply chain and production workflows.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, and operations.
