JOB TITLE LOCATION: Lackland AFB, TX JOB STATUS: Full-time CLEARANCE: Top Secret CERTIFICATION: TRAVEL: <25% Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Radio Frequency/Electronic Warfare Test Engineer for the TMAS 2 Contract, supporting the 47 Cyberspace Test Squadron. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and 3-10 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
- Active Top Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of RF, Radar, communications, and RF theory. To include experience with EW and/or Radar Waveforms, Signal Processing Techniques, RF lab verification, test and evaluation, and engineering analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python.
- Ability to derive DoW requirements from various sources to include Operations Plans, Concept Plans and the various DoW Capability Development Documents.
- Skilled in using various test equipment, like spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
- Experience in developing, writing, executing and analyzing and reporting test plans for RF systems and subsystems.
- Well-versed in troubleshooting and debugging complex RF issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interface with government or contractors developing the system under test (SUT) regarding system requirements, test objectives, schedules, and methods of test.
- Must have good writing/oral presentation skills.
- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Working knowledge of a combination of the following: Linux, Windows, VMware, OSI Model, Network traffic collection and analysis, enterprise network architecture, Kubernetes, Elastic, Git, MBSC/SYSL, communication equipment and technologies, routers, mail and web servers, Intrusion Detection & Prevention Systems, firewalls, anti-virus tools, and network traffic generation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) plans, test cases, and report according to established test methodologies and procedures.
- Perform DT&E under the direction of a Senior Test Engineer.
- Participate in all phases of RF/EW software and hardware development to include development requirements, risk assessments, and acceptance criteria development.
- Coordinate with customers, test engineers and range engineers to ensure the test infrastructure meets desired test objectives and data collection requirements.
- Actively communicate throughout the acquisition process in order to influence development of a testable capability or product.
- Compile and analyze test results data to determine conformity of the product or capability to the requirements.
- Document change requests/deficiencies of the product or capability as a result of test data analysis.
- Perform research, development, test, and evaluation of complex radar and EW systems and associated subsystems/components.
- Operate RF lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, vector network analyzers, etc.
- Design, develop, and implement integration and testing strategies for complex RF systems.
- Support the test and evaluation process by performing all necessary planning, design, development, and implementation.
- Effectively communicate with external and internal stakeholders.
- Provide documentation of test procedures, plans, results, and analyses.
- Desig and develop test plans and procedures for RF systems
- Perform RF system testing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation
- Analyze test data and prepare technical reports
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to identify and resolve issues.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers
- Conduct research and provide technical recommendations
