As a Security Officer - Flex Government Patrol in Champaign, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff and visitors through strong customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting using available systems. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by following post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and screen authorized entry by verifying identification and/or credentials, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and reporting suspicious behavior per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting assistance from supervisors and/or public responders when needed, and documenting actions taken.
  • Complete detailed reports, logs, and incident documentation, and communicate security-related information to Allied Universal management and site representatives during shift handoff and/or as conditions change.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • Have a state, county, and/or city issued security license, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
