Description Business Data Analyst (Business Reporting) - not a quant role; focused on practical, decision-ready reporting Demonstrated experience building and reconciling business rules using SQL and SAS (DATA step and PROC SQL) Moderate to strong proficiency in SQL (joins, aggregations, CTEs) and SAS (Base, DATA step, PROC SQL) Strong business acumen; translates ambiguous questions into clear requirements, and acceptance criteria AML Data / AML background is a strong asset, but not necessarily required. Naturally curious and inquisitive; asks insightful questions, challenges assumptions, and digs into anomalies to root cause Data quality mindset; performs reconciliations, validation checks, and ensures accuracy, completeness, and consistency Clear, concise communicator; presents technical findings in business-friendly language with actionable recommendations Stakeholder-focused; builds trust, manages expectations, and provides timely, proactive status updates Detail-oriented and organized; documents business rules, data lineage, and reporting logic; maintains version control Process improvement orientation; streamlines reporting workflows, reduces manual effort, and standardizes rules Results-driven ownership; delivers accurate, timely outputs with accountability and follow-through Collaborative team player; partners effectively with business, data engineering, and governance teams Adaptable and resilient; prioritizes competing requests and thrives in a fast-paced, change-driven environment Integrity and compliance mindset; adheres to data governance, privacy, and audit standards Preferred background in financial services or corporate reporting; familiarity with BI and data manipulation code tools (e.g., SAS VA, Tableau, Power BI, Python) Skills Sql, Data analysis, Python, Reporting, Data, Analysis, Sql queries, Sas, business analysis, analytic Top Skills Details Sql,Data analysis,Python,Reporting Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.
