Position Highlights

The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship is an independent Center within the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. The McGuire Center is the foundation of the University's premier and pioneering reputation in entrepreneurship education and is a key driver of entrepreneurship research and entrepreneurial activity within the College and broader community. The McGuire Center is committed to teaching excellence among its faculty and facilitators. For more than 30 years, the McGuire Center's undergraduate and graduate degree programs in entrepreneurship have been top ranked by US News, Economist, Business Week, and Entrepreneur rankings.

The primary purpose of the position is to improve the student experience by supporting faculty members teaching courses by responding to student questions in a timely manner, grading assignments, holding virtual office hours, and monitoring discussion boards. The position is expected to average approximately 1 - 15 hours per week while a facilitator is assigned to support a course, but hours are expected to vary week to week.

This is not a continuous position; facilitators will be assigned to courses based on their areas of expertise. Initially, facilitators will be assigned to individual courses. Based on the needs of the department, facilitators may also be invited to facilitate additional courses.

Course facilitators are expected to provide their own computing devices and have reliable high-speed access to internet to work from other locations. No special software will be required; although the device(s) must be capable of accessing the LMS, Microsoft and Adobe applications, and using virtual conferencing software.

The McGuire Center is seeking strong, experienced scholars who are able to work with students and colleagues, and who have experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship is seeking course facilitators to support faculty members teaching on-campus and online courses. Course facilitators improve the student experience by assisting course instructors with tasks such as:

  • Providing timely responses to student questions.
  • Grading assignments.
  • Holding virtual office hours.
  • Monitoring discussion boards.
  • Entering grades in a learning management system (LMS).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in a business related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurship education and/or experience.
  • Experience with D2L and an online learning environment.
  • PhD from an accredited university.
  • Experience using an LMS and virtual conferencing software, such as Zoom and MS Teams.
