About the Job

This position is in the Minnesota NLP group and will be studying AI and natural language processing under the direction of Professor Dongyeop Kang. See: https://minnesotanlp.github.io/

Duties/Responsibilities

90% Research
* Conduct research related to specific externally funded projects, including setting up experiments, collecting and analyzing data, troubleshooting challenges, and assisting graduate and undergraduate students on the project, as needed.
* Supports daily laboratory functioning and equipment maintenance.
* May be asked to contribute to papers or presentations related to research.
10% Lab Citizen
* Attend lab meetings with the entire research group and one-on-one meetings, as needed.
* Attend relevant lectures and training sessions.
* Maintain the highest safety standards that adhere to University policy.
* Assist other lab/community members, as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

PhD or PhD student in AI/NLP

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong research skills in AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
* At least three publications in top-tier AI conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, and EMNLP
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Patience, dedication, flexibility, and enthusiasm.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $32.00 to $40.00 per hour depending on education/qualifications/experience.
