AEM Business Analysts understand the customer's business requirements and business process management and then translate them to system requirements. In this position, you will design and document workflows and manage and provide solutions to client business needs that reduce burden and increase efficiency. You will document test cases, manage and execute testing of systems, and assist with end user testing and acceptance. What you'll do as a Business Analyst
- Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit and document business and system requirements, working closely with business and IT teams to analyze requirements and identify solutions.
- Investigate and analyze business processes and workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and document processes and outcomes.
- Elicit requirements from stakeholders by conducting interviews, workshops, survey/questionnaires, prototypes, documentation analysis, and other requirements gathering techniques.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and create mock-ups.
- Write and maintain detailed functional specifications and requirements for new or modified systems.
- Facilitate requirement review and validation sessions with client and development teams.
- Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage changes to requirements through formal change control processes.
- Follow agile development processes and support/lead scrum meetings and ceremonies
- Create or assist in creating user documentation, user guides, training materials, and conduct training sessions for system users.
- Monitor and document post-implementation problems.
- Apply business and functional knowledge, including testing standards, to meet the team's overall test objectives.
- Decompose business requirements into test cases that can be utilized by the internal team and external users (i.e., client, grantees). Analyze the project's business requirements through test case documentation to ensure requirements are met by the development team.
- Design and execute the test scripts and test scenarios. Execute all test cases, report defects, and coordinate with the development team to prioritize defects.
- Prepare, manage, and lead user acceptance testing with external users. Document feedback and issues from user acceptance testing.
- Complete regression testing, as required.
- Assist in preparing project documentation.
- Maintain and update status reports.
Required Qualifications (What You'll Bring to the Role)
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field from an accredited institution and 5-7 years related experience.
- Proven past experience with Federal agencies (U.S. Department of Education, state or district K-12 data collections and/or grants experience preferred).
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Effective project management skills. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, work as part of a team and to also work independently.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies preferred.
- Experience with JIRA and/or Azure DevOps.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates must have the ability to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship.
- Ability to obtain a clearance. US citizenship required.
- Active 5(c) public trust clearance preferred, not required.
