As part of a hardworking team of system safety and reliability engineers, you will design, assess, and assure the safety of electronic hardware in computer systems including simple and complex electronic hardware (PLDs, ASICs, FPGAs) for sub-orbital and orbital spacecraft, launch vehicles, and facilities. You will help maintain safety and process assurance objectives for electronic hardware; work with systems/software/hardware responsible engineers to identify and verify compliance with safety requirements, including process requirements; help systems, electrical engineers, and software engineers understand how to develop safety requirements from PHAs, FHAs, FMECAs, FTAs, and Human Error Assessments; review and approve safety analyses that support requirements identification, validation, and verification; audit program compliance to safety and assurance objectives; review and approve safety requirements for electronic hardware; review the risk characterization of open problems and safety risks; perform compliance assessments of our system safety processes and products against safety standards including (not inclusive) Range Safety, NASA, FAA, MIL-STD-882, and RTCA DO-254; generate metrics and report on program system safety status; and participate in actively maintaining a healthy system safety culture.

You will be a member of the Safety, Quality and Mission Assurance (SQMA) System Safety Engineering and Certification team. This position will directly impact human spaceflight safety by ensuring electronic hardware and computer systems meet rigorous safety standards and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
