Job Description




As a Security Officer - Industrial Patrol Driver in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will complete routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access control, visitor interactions, and clear incident documentation. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license per AU Driver Policy Requirements. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at an industrial manufacturing location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting, escalation, and documentation per site instructions.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, yards, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazardous conditions for follow-up.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor instructions, and directing traffic flow in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Monitor alarms, gates, and other security-related systems and/or indicators, and initiate appropriate response actions based on post orders.
  • Perform routine checks of doors, loading docks, storage areas, and restricted spaces, and report irregularities such as unsecured access points or suspicious activity.
  • Complete detailed reports, logs, and incident documentation, including observations from patrols and any security-related concerns communicated to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
  • Support emergency and evacuation procedures as directed, including assisting with accountability and coordinating with responding personnel when needed.
  • Operate in varying working environments and conditions, including indoor and outdoor patrols, noise, dust, and changing weather conditions, as required by the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
