Job Description




As a Security Officer - Telecom Site Patrol in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech and telecommunications location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor interactions. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a technology and communications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of offices, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential hazards.
  • Control access to the property by monitoring entry points, verifying identification and/or access credentials, and directing visitors, vendors, and contractors according to site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems when assigned, and report irregular activity to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
  • Complete routine reports, activity logs, and incident documentation in a timely manner using required tools and formats.
  • Provide assistance during emergencies such as medical situations, fire alarms, and building evacuations, following site procedures and post orders.
  • Communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and local responders, providing directions and de-escalation support when needed.
  • Perform building checks such as doors, docks, stairwells, and restricted areas, and report maintenance concerns that could impact operations.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by observing and reporting suspicious behavior, policy violations, and property damage.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
